Observing historical inventions and using current technology, a concept for a new means of mine transportation has been developed. The new , "mine bicycle" is a device using the advantages of individual means of transport used in the past adapted to the current rigors of safety and using the commonly used equipment of horizontal workings of underground mines. Currently, overhead railroads are often used to transport materials and crew in underground mine workings, friction-tooth drive units are used to drive along the rail of the overhead rail. Such drives with the appropriate combination are used to run suspended railroads in mine workings.... In the Polish mining industry, it is possible to notice the tendency to select the deposit with a system from the field, in which the mine workings, including transport routes, are constantly lengthened behind the progress of mining. This does not create a significant problem with regard to the transport of bulk goods and a large crew over increasing distances, however, the problem arises of transporting small-sized cargoes, or individual people, over considerable distances outside the normal train transports by overhead rail. The solution to this problem is not only of economic importance, but also of practical importance in mining transport using overhead railroads.
