The experiment involves the use of Water Treated with Low-Temperature, Low-Pressure Glow Plasma of Low Frequency. As a result, the structure of water changes, which becomes a more effective solvent. The water subjected to the above-mentioned process is also called nano-water. Its effect on living organisms has been studied before, which was confirmed in several publications in the journal "Water".
In this project, it was decided to investigate the effect of nano-water on changing the characteristics of two plants with great potential for the food industry: lavender and oregano. The active ingredients in these plants show a number of key interactions for the human body. Carvacrol contained in oregano has bactericidal, antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, antitumor, hepatoprotective, spasmolytic, vasorelaxant, antidepressant and anti-obesity properties. Lavender oil is an effective antibacterial and antifungal agent, it directly affects the central nervous system - it reduces spontaneous motor activity, minimizes nervous tension, anxiety and problems with falling asleep. Lavender has also been shown to have anti-depressant, anxiolytic and calming effects.
The first results show that the treatment of plants with nano-water immediately before sowing and during cultivation has a strengthening and growth stimulating effect. The distillation efficiency is also increased. There is also suspicion that the composition of the essential oil is changing, which may increase the benefits of its effects on the human body.
